Regional Legal and Compliance Manager
NASCO MIDDLE EAST, United Arab Emirates
Responsibilities:
A. Legal: Lead and manage the in-house legal and compliance functions, including but not limited to drafting legal agreements particular to the insurance industry - Collaborate with management to devise efficient legal defense strategies and practices - Engage, negotiate, instruct, coordinate, and monitor the work of external counsel - Be the point of contact with the relevant regulators and monitoring authorities.
B. Compliance: Report on Legal and Compliance performance, escalating areas of concern - Keep up-to-date with relevant laws in the countries of responsibility - Monitor developments in the regulatory environment and implement operating procedures where necessary, particularly in the development of new services and restructure of business activities - Provide timely and high-quality compliance and risk advice to various concerned stakeholders - Act as and be appointed as the Compliance Officer, MLRO and Data Protection Officer with the local authorities.
Requirements: Graduate in a relevant discipline - 4 years of proven experience as Legal Counsel (head or assistant) driving overall legal, compliance and governance function and related experience in AML/CTF fields (Preferably in the insurance industry) - Knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures, regulatory frameworks, and guidelines as they apply to the insurance industry - Strong ethics, attention to detail, collaboration, independency, and autonomy - Solid understanding of the UAE legal regulatory environment - Preferably with experience as registered CO/MLRO - Ability to conduct comprehensive research of legal issues and resolutions - Proficient in the Arabic and English languages.

System Engineer

Responsibilities: Implement, manage, and operate the group shared technology platforms and services - Contribute to the definition and enforcement of technology principles, solutions, standards, and best practices across the group in collaboration with the platform team and enterprise architects - Collaborate with architects, product owners, software engineers, and other stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements and thus infer optimal system and technology designs and implementation patterns - Design, build, implement, and document technology products and solutions, on-premises and cloud-based, to best meet business requirements, set standards, and applicable laws and regulations - Be accountable for the timely delivery of tasks and projects as per set standards, principles, architectures, processes, and methodologies - Operate and monitor the group shared technology platforms and services efficiently, maximizing availability, stability, effectiveness, and security; seek total satisfaction of the client as per agreed SLAs - Collaborate with the platform team and security specialists to make sure the group shared technology platforms and services are implemented, operated, and maintained in accordance with established security standards - Provide technical guidance and support for the business and technical teams across the Group.
Requirements: Excellent Linux(RHEL) administration skills - Good knowledge of Windows administration - Experience with Cloud technologies (Azure) - Knowledge of securing critical services and patching vulnerabilities - Knowledge of backup technologies - Knowledge of server monitoring tools - Understanding of networking protocols - Understanding of database technologies (mongodb, mysql,...) - Understanding of Container orchestration platforms (Redhat Openshift, K8s) - 3 to 5 years of experience.
